I have recently renewed my interest in web development thanks to a few excuses to dive back into it.
In completing my thesis at UC-Berkeley, I created a website to allow people to collaborate on the broad topic of North America's changing oil relationships. The website was located at oilinmexico.org. The site for this effort is now at www.globaleese.org.I decided to use a free, open-source content management system called Drupal. My client, the U.S. Department of Energy ended up asking me to create several more instances of this site for other ongoing projects within the Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence. In completing this effort, I learned quite a bit about Drupal, PHP, web 2.0 development, etc. I leveraged this knowledge to create a website for a lacrosse camp for women run by the coach at Harvard University. This site is found at crimsonelite.com. Eventually, I ported my personal site to Drupal and haven't looked back.
I hope to pick up side projects here and there to keep myself up-to-date on the latest web development technology using systems like Drupal. Drop me a line if you think I can help you.
